August 25, 2010

Gary and Cindy headed over to the stables after Cindy got home from work. We had the first fall cold front make it through Central Texas today. Yesterday was a record high temperature of 107F degrees. Tonight, it was only 90F degrees when they arrived at the stables.

To our Northern readers, that still sounds hot...to us, fall is on it's way.

Cindy bought a new (used) saddle this week. It's a Ruiz Diaz Collegiate 17" that has barely been ridden.

Gary brought LBR up from his paddock while Cindy staged the tack and grooming supplies. The barn was very quiet tonight with only one other boarder there.

Cindy rode LBR in the sand arena. As she was adjusting to the new saddle, and LBR was feeling spunky (not ridden in three days, cool weather), she kept the session on the flat at the walk and trot. LBR was pretty foward, but eventually settled nicely.

After Cindy rode, Gary rode for a bit and did some crossrails too.

They took LBR's tack off, gave him a rinse and took him to his paddock for treats.
